Now that finals are past, we can all take a leisurely trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the greatest art collections in the world and just a short walk from Hunter. One of the most engrossing paintings in the Met is this Madonna and Child by Italian Renaissance painter Carlo Crivelli. Crivelli’s Flemish influences and interest in texture, pattern, light and symbolism are on full display in this jewel-like painting.Â
